The runaway soccer ball

It was a bright and breezy Saturday afternoon when Leo, excited and full of energy, kicked his favorite soccer ball for the first time in his new backyard. The ball soared through the air, gliding over the soft grass—until it bounced off a rock and took a wild turn. Before Leo could chase after it, the ball rolled down the hill at the edge of his yard.

“Whoa!” Leo shouted, sprinting after it. But the ball had other plans.

Down the hill it went, bouncing and zig-zagging faster than Leo could run. The ball tumbled into the street and then veered off into the park nearby. Leo raced after it, but just as he reached the park’s entrance, a gust of wind swept the ball further away, like it was on a grand adventure.

The ball rolled past the playground, surprising a group of kids playing on the swings. It whizzed by a dog, who barked and wagged its tail, thinking it was an invitation to play fetch. The ball didn’t stop, though. It bounced along a trail through the trees, catching the eye of an old man feeding birds, who chuckled as he watched the runaway soccer ball roll by.

Leo kept running, laughing now at how determined his ball seemed to be. “Come back, ball! Where are you going?” he called, breathless but amused.

Just when it seemed like the ball might never stop, it took one final bounce—straight into a small pond at the edge of the park. With a soft splash, it floated gently on the water’s surface, as if it had decided that this was the perfect spot to rest.

Leo caught up, hands on his knees, panting from the chase. He grinned, staring at the ball lazily drifting in the pond. “Guess you needed a break, huh?”

As Leo waded in to retrieve his ball, he realized something: that unexpected adventure wasn’t so bad after all. He had gotten to see the whole park in a way he never had before, meeting new people and laughing along the way.

With his soggy soccer ball in hand, Leo walked back home, already planning the next kick—this time, ready for whatever adventure it would take him on next.

How to make slime

What you’ll need:

  • Flour (1 cup)
  • Water (½ cup)
  • Food colouring (optional, for fun colours)
  • A mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Instructions:

  1. Put the flour in a bowl – Start by pouring 1 cup of flour into your mixing bowl.
  2. Add water – Slowly add ½ cup of water to the flour while stirring with a spoon. Keep mixing until it turns gooey.
  3. Add food colouring (optional) – If you want colourful slime, drop in a few drops of food colouring and mix well.
  4. Knead the mixture – After mixing with the spoon, use your hands to knead the slime until it feels smooth and stretchy. You can add a little more water if it’s too thick or more flour if it’s too runny.

Now, you have homemade slime that’s stretchy and fun to play with!

Belling the cat

Once upon a time there was a small village of mice who  lived in constant fear of a cat that would feast on them. One day the mice had a meeting about the cat. One young mouse had a brilliant idea mouse said how about putting a bell around the cat’s neck they were thrilled with the idea but an old mouse said “I wonder who would put the bell around the moral of the story is it’s easy to suggest difficult or brave ideas but it takes real courage to carry them out .
